Musical Director Richard Auldon Clark
   Richard Auldon Clark, Director of Instrumental Activities at Butler University's Jordan College of Fine Arts and conductor of the Butler Symphony Orchestra, is one of the youngest conductors ever to appear on the stage of Carnegie Hall. A fervent proponent of American music, Mr. Clark has conducted more than 200 world premiere performances and has 40 CD recordings in his rapidly expanding discography. Recent guest conducting appearances include: the Long Island Philharmonic, Broadway's "Annie Get Your Gun," Long-Island Opera, Mercyhurst Opera Company, National Symphony Orchestra of Mexico, the Xalapa Symphony, "Broadway on Broadway", and the Utah Symphony Orchestra.

   In addition to his conducting, Mr. Clark is an active recitalist and chamber musician. Originally from Apalachin, NY, Mr. Clark studied violin and viola in New York City with Raphael Bronstein, Ariana Bronne and Lillian Fuchs. Mr. Clark was previously on the faculty of Rutgers University's Mason Gross School of the Arts and the Manhattan School of Music, where he received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees.

   Mr. Clark founded the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra in 1987, and as its artistic director and conductor has committed to premiering and recording the music of young composers, as well as that of more established artists whose works have been overlooked or forgotten.

Cellist Tara Chambers
  
Tara Chambers, cellist, has toured throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and Korea with New York City Opera National Co., Manhattan Chamber Orchestra, Miss Saigon, Phantom of the Opera, Mettawee River Theater Company, and the rock group Ke. Additional performances include Jupiter Symphony, New York Grand Opera and the Broadway shows Miss Saigon, Scarlet Pimpernel, Phantom of the Opera, Caroline or Change, Hairspray, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and The Sinatra Show at Radio City Music Hall. She is a graduate of Ithaca College School of Music and Manhattan School of Music.

 

Pianist Howard Cass
  
Howard Cass received his doctorate from the Juilliard School. From 1988 through 1994, he was on the faculty of Juilliard, where he taught electronic music, and directed the electronic music concerts. Piano performances include Saint Saens' Fifth Piano Concertowith the Mexico City Philharmonic, two Hovhaness Concerto and fifteen CD recordings with the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra, and concertos with the Garland Symphony, Cheyenne Symphony,and Liederkranz Orchestra at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall.His compositions "Breakfast of Champions" and "Mother Night" are currently being recorded by the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Richard Auldon Clark, with narration by author Kurt Vonnegut.

   These musicians, and others, will be among this summer's presenters in the Finger Lakes Chamber Music Festival.

 

   Evan Drummond
  
Guitarist Evan Drummond is currently a Doctoral candidate at the Eastman School of Music. His educational credits also include graduation from Interlochen Arts Academy, Bachelor of Music from Eastman School of Music, and a Masters degree in Music from Yale. Most recently, Evan Drummond also earned his Professional Studies Certificate at the Manhattan School of Music. Mr. Drummond has participated in Master Classes with: Roland Dyens, Elliot Fisk, Sharon Isbin, David Russell, Manuel Barrueco, Raphaella Smits, and the Castellani Andriaccio Duo. In addition to his emergent status as a performer, and himself as a mentor, he has also experienced some early success as an arranger. Guitarist Evan Drummond recently signed with Dunvagen Music Publications for an arrangement of a Phillip Glass composition. To date, artist Evan Drummond has performed at various venues throughout the United States, Europe, and Canada. Former faculty at The New York City Guitar School, Guitarist Evan Drummond has recently been awarded a Teaching Assistantship at Eastman School of Music. As well, Evan is now the guitar faculty for California State Summer School for the Arts held at the California Institute for the Arts. Kyle Ferrill

   Kyle Ferrill, baritone, is an active performer with a vast repertoire spanning from Monteverdi to modern music. He has appeared with some of the nation's finest orchestras, including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Pops, and Tanglewood. Recent engagements include the title role in Elijah with St. Olaf College Choir and Orchestra, the Oregon Bach Festival with Helmuth Rilling, a recording with the Slovak National Orchestra in Bratislava, Slovakia, and a reprise of a successful Carnegie Hall commission, David Bruce's Piosenki, in London. Recent projects include Handel's Messiah with the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra and a performance of Bach cantatas with the Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra. In addition to his performing career, Ferrill is a passionate and committed educator, teaching voice and voice-related subjects at Butler University and Indiana University. He and his wife, mezzo Lexa Ferrill, are co-founders of Full Circle Music, an eclectic recital series presenting all manner of vocal music.

  Ken Filiano: Noted for his accomplishments in jazz, spontaneous improvisation, classical, and inter-disciplinary performance with dance and the spoken word, Ken Filiano fuses the rich traditions of the double bass with his own seemingly limitless, often astonishing, inventiveness.

   Olivier Fluchaire
  
Olivier Fluchaire
has performed throughout Europe, Asia and the United States as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician. The French-born violinist has been a first-prize winner in several international competitions and has performed alongside Yehudi Menuhin, Nina Beilina, Martin Canin, Mark Peskanov, Anthony McGill and members of the Guarneri, American, and Emerson string quartets. During the 2010-11 season, Olivier Fluchaire is scheduled to tour Alaska performing Mendelssohn violin concerto Op. 64 with the Arctic Chamber Orchestra as well as solo with the New York Repertory Orchestra, the University of Alaska-Anchorage Sinfonia Orchestra, and the Affetti Chamber Orchestra. As a chamber musician, he will play alongside Piotr Paleczny, Gary Hammond, Astred Schween and with the New York String Quartet. He will be featured at concerts hosted by the Kosciuszko Foundation, Bargemusic, The Smithonian Museum, The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland, College of Staten Island/CUNY, Finger Lakes Chamber Music Festival, Hunter College/CUNY, University of Alaska /Fairbanks, University of Alaska/Anchorage, Manhattan Chamber Orchestra and Music in Midtown.  Andrea Gullickson
Oboist Andrea Gullickson maintains an active performance schedule with chamber music, solo recital and concerto appearances throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Passionate and creative music-making has won her critical acclaim from both press and audience members. Reviewers note that "she plays with a beautiful sense of line and shape" (Journal of the International Double Reed) and a "big colorful sound that she uses to make clear-headed, decisive statements" (Milwaukee Journal Sentinal). Andrea is a founding member of the highly acclaimed chamber ensemble, WiZARDS! A Double Reed Consort. Dedicated to the expansion of the body of double reed repertoire known and performed today, WiZARDS! has amassed a library of more than 400 double reed compositions; presented concerts and master classes in 18 states and been featured on numerous public television and public radio programs including NPR's Performance Today; developed innovative educational programs that have led to residencies funded by the National Endowment for the Arts; and released 4 CDs on the Crystal, Boston and CRS labels. Andrea's first solo CD, The Poetic Oboe, was released by Crystal Records in 2004.
Reviewer describe her playing as "...some of the finest I have heard. Her tone is pure, focused, and unforced--perfectly natural sounding and effortless." Fanfare. Her most recent recording, Down a River of Time, a set of oboe concertos recorded with the Czech Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, was released in Fall 2006 on the Cala label. Dr. Gullickson is Professor of Music and Chair of the Department of Music at Butler University in Indianapolis. Prior to joining the faculty at Butler she served in the same capacity at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh where she held the Oshkosh Northwestern Endowed Professorship and received the University's most
prestigious award, the John McNaughton Rosebush Professorship, granted for excellence in teaching, professional achievement, and public service.

 

  Jay Hassler began his clarinet career while growing up in Anchorage, Alaska. By the time he graduated from high school, he had performed with the Anchorage Symphony and the Anchorage Opera. Studying clarinet with Ricardo Morales, Mr. Hassler received his Masters degree in Orchestral Performance from the Manhattan School of Music. Mr. Hassler performs with the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra both as principal clarinetist and as chamber musician. An active freelance musician, Mr. Hassler has performed with the New Jersey Symphony, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, American Symphony, and the Stamford Symphony. He recently completed a thirty-city tour of Brazil with the Manhattan Orchesis quartet. Mr. Hassler is currently a member of the orchestra for the current Broadway show The Producers.

 

  E. Zoe Hassman, cello, is principal cellist for New York city’s Dicapo Opera Theatre, Bronx Concert Singers, and the Metropolitan Repertory Ballet Company. She is solo cellist for the All Season Chamber Players and the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra, as well as playing on Broadway. She has played for the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the New York City Opera Orchestra, and the Westchester Chamber Orchestra. She recorded for the Philip Glass movie soundtracks “Taking Lives” (Angelina Jolie) and “Secret Window” (Johnny Depp).

 

 Daniel Lippel, Guitarist: Praised for his "precision and expressivity" (Chicago Tribune), guitarist Daniel Lippel performs actively as a recitalist, chamber musician, as well as in non-classical settings. Lippel's recent Bach CD was featured as one of the best new releases from North America in May 2006 Gramophone.  John McMurtery performs as a soloist, orchestra member and chamber musician throughout the United States and Europe. In 2000, he soloed with The New Vienna Chamber Ensemble. He is currently a member of UpTown Flutes, which was recently awarded a Carnegie Hall debut recital by Artists International.
As Assistant Director of the Society for Chromatic Art, Mr. McMurtery is dedicated to commissioning and performing works by contemporary composers.
As part of Lincoln Center’s 2001 Focus! Festival Mr. McMurtery premiered Nicola Sani’s I binari del tempo (1998). He was a visiting guest artist and lecturer at the Pittsburgh State University Festival of New Music in 2001.
Mr. McMurtery is principal flutist of the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra and the Dicapo Opera Company. He is currently a Doctoral Fellow at The Juilliard School, under the guidance of Julius Baker.

 

  Christine Fish Moulton, flute, is Assistant Professor of Flute at Mansfield University of PA. She is a member of the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra and the Pennsylvania Sinfonia Orchestra, and is principal flute for the Savoy [WINDOWS-1252?]Company’s Gilbert & Sullivan productions in Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Boys Choir. She has participated in the Spoleto Festivals both in the USA and Italy and has been featured in both live and recorded performances on Boston's WGBH Radio. Richard Dyer of the Boston Globe has called her a "classy and resourceful musician, and quite a player". Recent workshops and classes she has presented have included The Rochester Flute Fair, Kutztown University, the Community Music School of Allentown and the Pennsylvania Academy of Music. Her Bachelor of Arts degree is from the Boston Conservatory of Music, Masters of Music from Manhattan School of Music and a DMA from Rutgers University. She serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the Marcel Moyse Society.

 

David Moulton, cello
  David Moulton, cellist, received his bachelor's and master's degrees in performance from the University of Michigan. He has performed as Principal Cellist in the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra and the Aspen Chamber Symphony, and has performed at the Colorado, Aspen, and Spoleto Music Festivals. Mr Moulton is a member of the Opera Company of Philadalphia Orchestra and is principal cellist of the Allentown Symphony. He also performs regularly with the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic, as well as the Lehigh Valley Chamber Orchestra. Mr Moulton is cellist with the chamber music group Satori, and is an Artist-Lecturer at Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA. He is also currently on the teaching faculties of Kutztown University and Muhlenberg College.


   Yoojin Oh
  
Following her debut concert performing Rachmaninov second piano concerto with the Seoul Philharmonic at the age of 16, Yoojin Oh has toured throughout Europe, America and her native Korea. Ms. Oh was featured as a guest soloist with Manhattan Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Bronx, University of Alaska Sinfonia Orchestra, New York Sinfonietta, Seoul Philharmonic, Inchon philharmonic, and the Jeunesse Ensemble Orchestra and her performances were broadcast live for Bronxnet Television, TV36-Communities on Cable (NJ) and WXXI Radio (Rochester, NY). Highlights for her 2010-11 season include, the CD release of her performance of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's piano concerto in A Major, K. 414 (arranged by Mozart for piano quintet) for Keuka label, the New York premiere of Eduard Tubin's piano concertino with the New York Repertory Orchestra and a performance of Vaughan Williams Piano Concerto in C with Manhattan Chamber Orchestra. Ms. Oh will also give chamber music concerts at the Affetti Music Festival (Alaska), Finger Lakes Chamber Music Festival (NY), and numerous performances with the All Seasons Chamber Players.   Francisco Roldán
  
Colombian-born guitarist Francisco Roldán has been entertaining audiences since his early years at the Mannes College of Music. He received annual scholarships and attained the Master's Degree in Performance from the Mannes College of Music. Mr. Roldán subsequently supplemented his studies by playing in master classes for Manuel Barrueco, Sharon Isbin, David Russell, and Paul Odette. In the spring of 1993 he gave a solo New York debut recital at the Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall that launched his career as a soloist.
Francisco Roldán is currently on the faculty of the Mannes College of Music Extension and Preparatory Divisions and at Lehman College, City University of New York.

 

   Karen Rostron studied violin with Raphael Bronstein and Ariana Bronne. As concertmaster and principal violinist of the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra (MCO) for eight years, she has participated in over 100 premiere performances in New York City, and twenty-two CD recordings. She also appears regularly in New York City as soloist and chamber musician, and tours extensively throughout the United States and internationally. Recent performances include recitals in Weill and Merkin Halls, the Donnell Library, and several solos with the MCO. Joel Rudin, Violist
  Joel Rudin, a former member of the Laurentian String Quartet, toured the United States, Canada, Asia and Algeria, and can be heard on recordings for the Musical Heritage Society, Soundspells Productions, Newport Classics, Albany Records and Pierian Records. An active chamber musician, Mr. Rudin is currently a member of the Schiller String Quartet and Synergy String Quartet, and is a frequent guest artist with the All Seasons Chamber Players. He is also a member of the New York Five, a mixed contemporary music ensemble. Mr. Rudin has played with the New York Philharmonic, New Jersey Symphony, American Symphony, and numerous other orchestras, as well as on Broadway. He is Principal Viola of the Delaware Valley Philharmonic.
 

 

Erin Stewart, vocalist
   Erin Stewart was recently seen covering the role of Christine Dae in the Broadway national tour of The Phantom of the Opera, where she performed for audiences all across America and Canada. In December Erin made her debut
with The Arts Center of Coastal Carolina as Guinevere in Camelot. This past August, Erin made her debut with Opera Cleveland as Anne in A Little Night Music. Opera News stated "Erin Stewart's Anne Egerman was beautifully youthful and poised.
Other Credits include a Broadway debut with Phantom of the Opera, the star soloist with Univeral Studio's, Osaka, Japan, A Wonder Christmas, Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro with Metro Lyric Opera under the baton of Anton
Coppola, Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance, Maria in West Side Story, and the title role in Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella. She has performed many new works around New York City in such venues as Merkin Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Gould Hall, the Liederkranz, and El Museo del Barrio. Erin received her Masters in Voice Performance from the Manhattan School of Music.

 

  Max Zheleznyak, violin II, has studied violin with Richard Auldon Clark for nine years. He has a Bachelors in Music from Rutgers University, a Masters in Music from Butler University, and is a regular member of the Manhattan
Chamber Orchestra. Originally from Odessa, Ukraine, Max is now a U. S. citizen.

 

  Lawrence Zoernig, has appeared at Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, and in Hawaii, Spain, France, Holland and Brazil. He has been winner of the Artists International and Joseph Fischoff Competitions and was a featured performer at the World Expo in Seville, Spain. Lawrence has also been cellist with the goliard Concerts, Mosaic Ensemble, Scandia Symphony, Con Brio Ensemble and Paragon Ragtime Orchestra, and has performed around the world on Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth II, Vistafjord, Caronia, Royal Viking Sun and Sagafjord. He holds degrees from the Juilliard School and the Cleveland Institute of Music.
